These are the most unique License Plate Nut Bolt Covers we have seen that will also dress up the ends of the bolts that hold the license plate on your motorcycle. They are handmade using 12 ga Winchester AA shotgun shell brass heads or Winchester shotgun shell nickel heads. The shotgun shell heads are completely filled with plastic which acts as a backing, strenthens it and this plastic also helps the Shotgun Shell nut to stay in place. They are threaded to fit 1/4" x 20 TPI (threads per inch) commonly available bolts that most folks use to attach their license plates and/or frames. They need about 1/4" to 3/8" of thread to be firmly tightened. When installed properly, as illustrated, the end of the plated bolt will be flush and will then look like the primer.
Our Shotgun Shell Nut Bolt Covers are intended to be used on a license plate frame where the plate is mounted on the inside. If used on a license plate on the outside of a frame, the area where the Shotgun Shell nut sits must be flat and accommodate the base, or they will not sit flat and straight.
These are hand made, assembled and polished and designed as a vanity license plate accessory. They should ONLY be hand tightened, DO NOT use a wrench or pliers, as you will strip the threads and also mark the Shotgun Shell nut. Hold the head of the bolt with a wrench or other tool, then tighten the Shotgun Shell nuts by only using your fingers until tight. |

You can also use these Shotgun Shell nuts anywhere that you have a 1/4" x 20 TPI bolt such as crash bars, highway pegs, saddle bags, etc, to dress up your motorcycle or ATV.
We suggest that you coat the Shotgun Shell nuts with varathane or something similar to prevent tarnishing. We also suggest that you use something on the bolt threads to ensure they remain locked in place (lock tight, automotive silicone seal, etc).
